Communication Arts II and Afro-Asian Literature
English 2 is a communication arts and Afro-Asian Literature course. Primarily, it aims to enhance the students’ proficiency in the five macro-skills and develop further their English communication ability. In addition, it intends to expose and make students familiar with African and Asian literature in order to promote appreciation for Afro-Asian culture, as well as respect for and tolerance of cultural uniqueness and diversity.
General Objectives:
At the end of the school year, the students should be able to:
- Develop their proficiency in listening, reading, speaking, writing, and critical media viewing;
- Use the English language competently as a tool for communication and learning;
- Demonstrate understanding, tolerance, and respect for people of other races as well as their culture and traditions;
- Utilize vicarious experiences derived from reading about Afro-Asian cultures to enrich themselves and widen their world view.
